Bell Steel’s business model is based on a one-stop shop steel fabricator and erector. This means Bell Steel is active in all aspects of a project. Here are key points the company is managed by:

detailing

We subcontract our detailing services only to companies who meet our rigorous, quality standards, including the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM). These companies work diligently with us to ensure we receive the drawings accurately and on time. Because we have cultivated strong relationships with several detailing companies, we provide the same quality product regardless of the size or duration of the project. In addition, we subcontract engineering services on design-build projects to licensed and certified engineering firms.

FABRICATION

Bell Steel’s AISC Certified Fabrication Department is committed to providing a quality product and on-time deliveries. Bell Steel employs a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff and maintains full-time Quality Control Inspectors in every shop and on each shift, who inspect our product at each stage of fabrication up to delivery. All welders are certified in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS). Our equipment includes CNC Drill/Saw line, CNC Plasma Cut Beam Lines, CNC Plasma/Oxy Fuel/Drill Plate Processor, CNC Angle/Plate Line, and Metfin 4-wheel Wheelabrator in our over 150,000 square feet of fabrication area. Our ability to utilize downloads in our CNC equipment directly from detail drawings maximizes the accuracy of your fabricated products. With all these great facets in place, we can fabricate over 18,000 tons on our 15-acre facility.

ERECTION

We utilize both in-house, as well as highly qualified subcontract field crews to ensure timely and safe field installation. Field crews adhere to strict safety compliance measures as required by company policies and governmental regulations. Our crews, whether in-house or subcontract, conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings to review safety issues and keep good safety practices top of mind.

Estimating

We own a leading structural steel estimating program that can give our customers any form of information they want for their project. We also do all of our estimating in-house.

Procurement

We are in control of all aspects of material procurement. With our 37+ years of experience and relationships with steel mills and suppliers, we can procure any needed material or service. This includes domestic steel and special material grade requirements, including complicated material rolling with tight tolerances.

Painting

We provide high-performance coating applications as required for your project. Combined with our shot-blast machine, hybrid paint systems allow us to be one of the few structural fabricators to offer this ability in-house.

Transportation

We have the ability to provide all material transportation. We have a fleet of vehicles ranging from a standard pick up all the way up to a semi with equipment trailers.

 

Safety

Safety has been and will remain a cornerstone of our project focus. We have a full-time safety director ensuring we are providing a safe environment both in house and in the field and are always looking for ways to improve our safety process. We have a commitment to our team and yours to be proactive.

Quality

Being an AISC certified shop makes us a leading force in quality. AISC Certification Programs set the quality standard for the structural steel industry and are the most recognized national quality certification program for the industry. AISC’s goal is to build quality structures from the start by focusing on error prevention rather than error correction. We undergo annual audits to ensure we are following all protocols.
